چکیده

Dual-functional radar-communication (DFRC) has been envisioned as a key enabler for number of emerging applications. Nevertheless, the intrinsic difference between communication and sensing functionalities imposed challenges in fully realizing promise technology. In this paper, we propose Pareto optimization framework multi-antenna DFRC system, where single transmitter with multiple antennas communicates users detects radar targets simultaneously. To begin with, define an achievable performance region that is built upon peak sidelobe (DPSL) spatial beampattern signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) each user, which proved to be compact normal. Then, formulate fairness-profile problem lowest acceptable level dual pre-defined direction attain boundary region. Also, provide bisection search algorithm solve polynomial complexity, prove its optimality can achieved by single-stream transmission. As further step, extend discussion beamforming design given hardware impairments. Finally, evaluate effectiveness proposed impact brought impairments numerical simulations.

A Generalized Framework for Global Communication Optimization

In distributed-memory message-passing architectures reducing communication cost is extremely important. In this paper, we present a technique to optimize communication globally. Our approach is based on a combination of linear algebra framework and dataflow analysis, and can take arbitrary control flow into account. The distinctive features of the algorithm are its accuracy in keeping communica...

A Generalized Optimization Framework for Wireless Powered Communication Networks

In this paper, we generalize conventional time division multiple access (TDMA) wireless networks to a new type of wireless networks coined generalized wireless powered communication networks (gWPCNs). Our prime objective is to optimize the design of g-WPCNs where nodes are equipped with radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting circuitries along with constant energy supplies. This constitutes an i...

Beyond Cost and Performance, a Value-Centric Framework and Pareto Optimization for Communication Satellites*

Investments in space systems are substantial, indivisible and irreversible, characteristics of high-risk investments. Traditional approaches to system design, acquisition, and risk mitigation are derived from a cost-centric mindset, and as such, they incorporate little information about the value of the spacecraft to its stakeholders. These traditional approaches are appropriate in stable envir...

A novel generalized optimization criterion for transmit signal design in Joint Transmission (JT) multiuser downlinks

Joint Transmission (JT), a novel downlink transmission scheme, was introduced and described in recent papers. The crux of JT consists in exploiting channel state knowledge at the base stations to jointly generate a common transmit signal for the support of all mobile terminals, with the aim to directly eliminate intersymbol interference and intracell multiple access interference while transmitt...

Low probability of intercept-based adaptive radar waveform optimization in signal-dependent clutter for joint radar and cellular communication systems

In this paper, we investigate the problem of low probability of intercept (LPI)-based adaptive radar waveform optimization in signal-dependent clutter for joint radar and cellular communication systems, where the radar system optimizes the transmitted waveform such that the interference caused to the cellular communication systems is strictly controlled. Assuming that the precise knowledge of t...
